The iPhone puzzle has finally been unlocked and I can’t figure out why it took quite so long to do it. Apple did kick up quite a stink about the iPhone unlocking episode. But truth be told, Mr Jobs and all his men in this day and age did you expect the poor souls who were denied an opportunity to use the iPhone to sit tight and wait? I should think not. So when the guys at iPhone Dev Team did unlock it, endind the AT&T monopoly, both Apple and AT&T did kick up quite a storm. And what’s more, this unlocking is restore resistant.
After it woke up and realized that millions of users around the world are unlocking the iPhone (and do we blame those poor souls) Apple warned these bad bad users. The warning was to the effect that Apple took no guarantee for the unlocked phones and apparently the unlocking software on the internet has been known to cause damage to the iPhone.
The iPhone Dev Team who produced the unlocking software has also promised a software that will restore the iPhone to its original factory state.
I’m sure most people have no sympathy for Apple who has restricted the availability of the iPhone to the rest of the world. I can vouch for the rest of the world that it’s not fair that the guys in the US of A get to play with the iPhone while gadget geeks around the world just have to sit around waiting. Mean move Apple. So most customers outside think nothing of having an iPhone imported and unlocked. Lots of cell phone shops are making quite a business out of unlocking the iPhone.
To all the guys at Apple, did you think you could get away with cheating us all of the iPhone?

The new iPod nano is pretty. And awesome as well. For something that starts at $ 150, it’s a steal. For just a little more than double the price of a shuffle you get a whole lot more. This baby can store 1000 or 2000 songs depending on the capacity.
The 4 GB model is available only in grey but the 8 GB variant comes in red, green, blue and black in addition to grey. The hot pink from the previous edition is missing, but I’m willing to overlook that for all the stuff that’s loaded in this palm sized dynamo.
The new iPod nano has a 2 inch screen with the highest number of pixels per inch in any iPod. It also has a new menu which shows a display of various album covers on one half of the screen, while the other half displays the iPod menu. The new nano also boasts of games with world class graphics, a beautiful user interface and an entirely metallic finish. Then there’s the exciting new cover flow wherein a user can select a song from the library by going through album covers.
To boot, the battery life just got better. The battery in this thing lasts a whole day, yes 24 hours if you’re playing audio and 5 hours if you’re watching video. Which is still way more than even a brand new laptop will give you. And all this in 6.5 mm. The guys at Apple have really been working overtime.
This iPod comes with a pathetic set of earbuds and if you’re spending on a nano you should probably do yourself a favour and buy yourself a pair of earphones. Though the nano is a disappointment once you’ve used the iPhone or the iTouch, it is by itself the best buy considering it price range and it is a drastic improvement on the earlier nano.

Jobs is considered by many the father of Apple Inc. one who created as well as recreated Apple, the new Apple. After Jobs took over the reins of the company for the second time it fervently and vehemently started its R&D, and a major chunk of the revenues generated was diverted in this direction. It paid off well. After the introduction of the iMac the revenues and profit margin of Apple has escalated, not just in the U.S but worldwide.
The original iMac integrated a CRT display and CPU into a streamlined, translucent plastic body. The line became a sales smash, moving about one million units a year. It also helped re-introduce Apple to the media and public, and announced the company’s new emphasis on the design and aesthetics of its Read more »

The time of the Apple computer has arrived. Indeed, it’s been that time for the past five years, at least, but only now, slowly, are consumers waking up to this fact. Let’s demystify the myth that an Apple computer will cost you more than a Windows PC. In truth, it’ll cost you much less.
Thanks to Apple’s unrelenting top star products(the iPods, the iPhones) even its Macintosh business has gained and is now in league with that of the biggest PC companies in the world. Everyone who has operated an Apple Mac agrees and insists that Leopard, the operating system that Apple released just recently, is to its chief rival, Microsoft’s Windows Vista, roughly as Presley was to Johnny Cash. Both had their glories, but the former was always the big one.
This blunt and obvious truth is finally dawning: If we forget about computer-industry network effects and monopolistic business practices, if we forget Apple’s various ancient missteps — if we’re going just by what’s better — the ages-old Mac-vs.-PC debate is over. In fact its been long Read more »

The iPhone, is an Internet and multimedia enabled qua-band GSM EDGE supported mobile phone. The multi touch screen along with the virtual keyboard and buttons accomplishes its user input. Apple’s line of Mac Mini computers might be nearing a premature end of life. It has been learnt that Apple has slowed down the shipping of some of its most popular Mac Models as the anticipated release date, the 26th October of Mac OS X Leapord closes in. Confirmed sources also revealed that Apple has told its channel partners not to accept any pre-orders ahead of the festive season for its Mac Mini Desktop configurations as they shouldn’t be expecting any more shipments of the same.
According to AppleInsider, It’s no secret that AppleInsider believes the mini’s days are numbered. The last major enhancement to the diminutive Mac desktop line came well over a year ago, with recent “refreshes” consisting solely of component swaps with no added engineering effort whatsoever. Should the mini officially go end-of-life (EOL) this month, it’s not clear what the future would hold for Apple’s alternative desktop offering. The mini was last refreshed — albeit Read more »

The renowned iPhone / iPod touch file system hacker Niacin is learnt to have hacked the new firmware version 1.1.1 as well. Apparently he invited Engadget staff to test the same who have confirmed the same on their site yesterday. Engadget acknowledged the fact that the whole 1.1.1 situation has been very confusing and thus provided the events in a timeline on their site as follows:
1. Apple releases iPhone, which was obviously cracked six ways from Sunday.
2. Through firmwares 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 Apple does not block these hacks in any way.
3. Firmware v1.1.1 is released for iPhone and iPod touch, which completely locks out file system access (and thus 3rd party software).
4. Awkward silence from Apple fans and the dev community as everyone ponders how to crack the new file system Read more »
