iPhone - an overview

iphone.jpgThe iPhone, is an Internet and multimedia enabled qua-band GSM EDGE supported mobile phone. The multi touch screen along with the virtual keyboard and buttons accomplishes its user input. This new product functions both as a camera phone and an ‘iPod’ in addition to visual voicemail and text messaging. Internet services like E-mail etc are also offered by it.

The idea of iPhone actually emerged in the mind of the CEO of Apple, Steve Job. He had actually assigned his engineers to investigate touch screens, while he was considering having the Apple work on the tablet PC’s.

The new iPhone allows call merging, integration with other cellular network features along with other iPhone functions. It is also inclusive of the Visual Voicemail feature that allows the users to access the list of current Voicemail without having to call into their respective voicemails. It allows the users to listen and delete the message in a non chronological order by choosing any message from the on screen list.

The ringtone feature of the iPhone was introduces on the September 5, 2007 which allowed the users to create their own custom ringtones, from their self purchase of iTunes music. The ringtones can be of any length from 3 to 30 seconds of any song or any part thereof. It could be paused from half a second to five seconds when it is looped and it can do this without expiring. The synched ringtones could be used for alarms on this phone. The Apple has released a video which explains the features and the working of this extraordinary and magical device, which is as small as possible but can be your entire world.
