iPhone, does it deserve the hype?

The hype is often overrated; we all are quite familiar with the concept. The product often does not match up to the media created, publicity generated hype about a technology. The current topic under discussion is whether the much debated and coveted iPhone deserved the aura created, and whether its touch screen interface actually makes the gadget more intuitive and simpler to use?

There is an opinion in everyone’s mind, but the facts are not mere opinions, they are solid facets of more definitive value.

Well the results of research say that the iPhone is indeed the one gadget that has a life up to the aura created around it even thought it is not the most feature rich gadget.

The devices to be compared are:-

The HTC Touch, a Windows Mobile device which has both the touch screen capacity as well as the standardized button based navigation system. Not yet offered in the U.S carriers yet, it supports a system for both Wi-Fi and a Bluetooth, along with its base on the Windows Mobile 6.0 platform and a 2.8-in., 240-by-320 resolution display and a 2-megapixel camera.

Nokia’s N95, which is of a Symbian Platform based on the Series 60. This provides a storehouse of multimedia even though only with the standardized button based navigation. Having a 5 mega pixel camera with the ability to create VGA like videos of 30 seconds per frame, it can be literally called a powerhouse for multimedia. It also has features like many types of media playback, built in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS and we cannot forget the Bar Code reader along with a huge number of other features. The part about the 2.6 inches, 320 by 240 resolution display also does not stop one from the drool it induces.

Out of these two, same category devices, the realization has now struck that the iPhone is indeed the master of these. Though not a media powerhouse or a windows mobile system, the touch screen user interface does significantly improve its use and its ability ot be intuitive to the consumer.
